Describe a bug so the AI fixes it
Fix a real bug by telling the AI what goes wrong, what should happen, and the one thing it may change.
Example brief
In this task list, pressing Delete on a task removes the first task instead of the one you pressed. A vague request such as "fix delete" often makes the AI rewrite the whole app.
An example. Use your own idea next.
Steps
- Use the starting project: add two tasks and press Delete on the second. Which one disappears?
- Write a request with three parts: what goes wrong, what should happen, and that only this one thing may change.
- Generate, then run the behaviour tests to see the bug is gone and nothing else broke.
What you will learn
- Bug report
- A short note with what goes wrong, what you expected and how to see it again. The AI, like a person, fixes what it can see clearly.
- Reproduce
- To make the bug happen again on purpose, with the same steps. A bug you can reproduce is half fixed.
A sample prompt
Clicking Delete always removes the first task instead of the one I clicked. It should remove only the task whose Delete button I pressed. Change only the delete handler and nothing else.
Write yours first, then compare.
To complete it
Pass all 9 checks and 3 behaviour tests on one version, then accept. You start from a working project and change it.
