Authentication: what it means
Checking who someone is, usually by signing in. Let a trusted provider handle it rather than storing passwords yourself.
Also written: sign-in, hosted sign-in, auth.
How it shows up when you build
- Who is allowed to do this?: Proving who someone is, usually with a sign-in. A checkbox that says you are an admin proves nothing.

- Treat everything in the browser as public and editable.
